Document: "Zoning Proposal in water supply system in Ulcinj" presented at the offices of the Sachsen Wasser GmbH company today in Ulcinj. This document was created within the project Consulting Services for Institutional Support of Water Supply and Wastewater Utility Ulcinj, Republic of Montenegro funded by the German Bank for Reconstruction and Development KfW through employer Vodacom doo Tivat.

According to the adopted proposal, water supply network in Ulcinj will be divided into 11 DMAs, in order to reduce or minimize loss, in accordance with the recommendations of the International Water Association (IWA). Considering that in Ulcinj will begin reconstruction and enlargement of part of the system soon, this document will serve as a basis for the consultant which will implement the project.

Along with the adoption of a proposal zoning, consultant has started a water loss reduction campaign in the pilot zone (DMA 8), which extends from the source Ga? to the Totos settlement in the municipality of Ulcinj.

In order to creating the conditions for independent work of VIK Ulcinj on reducing and controlling losses, foresees the establishment of "Water Loss Reduction Team", whose members will be trained by the consultant, the company Sachsen Wasser GmbH from Leipzig in the future . VIK Ulcinj has obtained the most modern equipment for the sound leak detection and measurement of losses, and suitable softwares that will be used in the water supply system in the future which will allow better water supply, and create better conditions for development of tourism as the main economic branch in Ulcinj.

The presentation was attended by representatives of Vodacom, Water Utility and Ulcinj municipality.
